The Third Haven Meeting library is available as a resource to Meeting members and regular attenders and is located on the bookshelves in the Brick Meetinghouse worship room. We are always interested in suggestions as to how the library might better serve the Meeting community. Please email suggestions, book requests, or inquiries to 3rdHavenLibrary@gmail.com. If you're interested in making book donations to our library, please check out our wish list. Other books not on our wish list may also be donated, though we reserve the right to reject any donations that are in poor condition or do not fit into our list of accepted categories (see below).
Items Available to Borrow:
Books are organized by categories—Q for Quakerism, BIO for Biography, H for Human Relations (Psychology), L for Literature, O for Other Religion, R for Religious Education, S for Social Concerns/Peace, and W for Women—and may be borrowed for up to a month. Books may be checked out by writing the title and author of the book, and the name and phone number of the borrower, in the binder located on the right bookshelf. Pamphlets may also be borrowed in the same way.
Returned items should be placed in the box marked "RETURNED ITEMS" on the shelf and entries in the binder crossed out.
We are currently in the process of creating an online and physical catalog of books available. The online catalog is available here.
Items Available to Purchase:
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting's Faith & Practice and Ken Carroll's book "300 Years and More of Third Haven Quakerism" are available for purchase and are located in the wooden basket on the left bookshelf; please deposit payment in the wooden box marked "Sales & Donations" in the entry-way of the Meetinghouse.
