Communications Committee Annual Report 2023:
The Communications Committee, under the management of John Hawkinson, clerk coordinator, keeps Third Haven Monthly Meeting members and attenders apprised of past and future events of interest from the Meeting, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and the local community. John Hawkinson also handles transmission via our Gmail account of announcements twice a week and monthly newsletters with minutes from Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business, coordinating website postings with webmaster Tania Hamboyan Harrison (Line by Line web design). Tania designs, updates and reformats parts of the website as needed or requested by committees. Dee Rein formats and mails the newsletter to those who do not receive it by email via our Gmail account as well as other Meetings. Marie Leonard formats directory information compiled by John Hawkinson from a variety of sources. She designs, and arranges printing and distribution of the directory, the latest of which is currently available in the Common Room or by mail if wished. Marie also serves as graphic designer for materials such as the recent Meeting logo development as well as for memorial services and other events. The phone and email@example.com are monitored and messages transmitted to members and attenders as appropriate by Dee and John. The technology team of Dee Rein, John Turner, Stephanie French, Mary Yancey and Cynthia Quast facilitate Zoom for Meetings for Worship, Meetings for Worship with Attention to Business, and other events as needed. Clay Owens helps with technology as needed. The Communications Committee welcomes photographs, announcements, and newsletter articles on an ongoing basis as these submissions are crucial in accomplishing our communication mission. New members of this committee are always welcome to share in these interesting tasks.
