Stephen Mark Gerni

Stephen Mark Gerni passed away on August 9, 2021, in Easton, Maryland, at the age of 71.

Stephen was born on August 19, 1949, in Orange, New Jersey, to Reverend Alfred C. Gerni and Caroline Lillian Gerni,who preceded him in death. While Stephen spent most of his childhood in Logansport, Indiana, he called many places home throughout his life, including Virginia, Colorado, Arizona, Maryland, and Ecuador.

Stephen is survived by his spouse, Susan Dabney of Easton, Maryland; his five children, Pascha Gerni, Josh Gerni, Margaret Lane, Rebekah Dennison, and Yasenta Sen’Gerni; his eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Sophia, & Emma Gerni, Liam & Nathaniel Means, Lucy & Whitman Dennison, and Olana Campbell; and his nine siblings, Carol Hibbs, Charles Gerni, Mary Armstrong, Paul Gerni, Claudia Stover, Alfred Gerni Jr, Thomas Gerni, James Gerni, and John Gerni, and their families.

Stephen will always be remembered for his love of music. Whether jamming on stage, in a classroom, or with special-needs communities, Stephen found ways to connect with people through his passion for music.

Third Haven Friends Monthly Meeting is a member of Southern Quarterly Meeting of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends General Conference of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
